Temari Collection : The pink fabric contains some of the most loved flowers in Japan -Ume, Sakura, Tsubaki (camelia) and Kiku (chrysanthemum). These flowers are fashioned into looking just like Japanese decorative craft balls called Temari.
In the navy fabric, bunnies are playing amongst Sakura petals and Temari balls. The detail on the Temari balls is intricate and gives a playful splash of colour to the collection.
Temari balls derive from the Japanese Te (hand) and mari (ball). They date back to the 7th century and would have been traditionally made from scraps of kimono fabric. These balls started off as children’s toys but have evolved into a highly decorative and elaborate craft form.
This will make a lovely gift for all ages:)
